According to the Premier of Nova Scotia, Stephen McNeil, last year (2018) was Nova Scotia’s best tourism revenue year on record. It’s pleasing to know more people are getting to see the beauty that lies in Nova Scotia.
The Premier said tourism revenues in 2018 reached an estimated $2.61 billion, a 0.3% increase compared to 2017. Other highlights from the 2018 tourism year include: the third consecutive year of growth in visitation by air, the fifth straight consecutive year of growth in visitation from overseas markets, and an increase in room nights sold across the province.
Since 2013, visitation has increased by 27%, or 500,000 visitors.
